Black Friday Marketing Ideas You’ll Want to Use

It can be tempting to ignore Black Friday altogether – after all, who wants to discount their services? Remember that November can be a quiet month. Black Friday marketing can be a great opportunity for your salon. Shopping days like these can make or break your year as a salon owner. With a little creativity you can take advantage of the most profitable shopping day of the year. So how can you go about it?

Old Stock

Get rid of old stock. Think anything that has been discontinued or is nearing its use-by date. Once-off items and electrical goods are also great for Black Friday. Make sure you don’t leave any room for confusion. Price things individually and show how much they have been discounted by.

Social Media

Social Media is a great tool for getting discounts out there. Highlight that there is a time limit to increase urgency. Start promoting at least a week before Black Friday to get the message across in good time. Promoting alternative methods of payment can help to appeal to more people. In store, online or even over-the-phone.  Make the purchase as easy as possible. 

Gift Card Upgrade

Consider offering a Gift Card Upgrade sale – one day only. Many shoppers use Black Friday to buy gifts for others and Gift Cards are one of the most requested gifts. Tell them they will get more for bang for their buck TODAY ONLY (Black Friday).  Shout about it all over your socials. You can even stipulate when these cards can be used (in your quieter months like January).

Black Friday Gifts

Offer complimentary Black Friday gifts for your regular VIPs. Consider added-value treats when they have their usual treatment. Or surprise your best customers with a complimentary gift. Add a face mask upgrade to their normal facial or give them a trial product. They might love it so much and come back to buy more.

Black Friday Contest

Have a Black Friday contest. This can stimulate demand without having to give things away to everyone. It is also a way to thank your clients while increasing your social media activity. The prize can be a free treatment of your choice… and you can let them take the prize during a quiet month. Black Friday marketing is well worth the effort.
