Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion (MD) uses ultra fine micro-crystals to exfoliate the skin. During the treatment, skin is first cleansed to remove makeup and prepare the skin for treatment. A fine jet of abrasive crystals is then jetted over the skin, lifting away dead skin and grime. This unblocks pores and stimulates collagen production.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a fantastic way to rejuvenate skin. Removal of dead skin cells reveals the younger cells below and allows Skincare products to absorb into the skin more effectively. Your complexion will immediately look fresher and more radiant. The gentle vacuum action removes the debris and stimulates microcirculation. This increases cell renewal thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation.

The SkinBase MD facial is a gentle and effective way to achieve a clean, smooth and radiant complexion. A progressive treatment, therefore, we recommend a course of 6 MD facials to see the best results.

Ageing Skin – Changes that occur during our 30s and 40s

We all know that as we get older there are dramatic changes in the way our ageing skin looks. One of the reasons why the skin of a child looks so healthy is that the epidermis is so highly translucent – reflecting light and making it look bright and healthy. More importantly at this age, there should be little or no obvious damage to the dermis from the effects of the sun – although this is the time at which potential damage is done and the effects will become visible within a few years.
