IPL – Solution to excess hair growth

How does it work for hair removal?

IPL targets the root of the hair. The energy it emits heats the hair follicle until it is disabled at which point the follicle can no longer produce a new hair. There are three stages of hair growth and it is the ‘anagen’ phase that is targeted in IPL treatment. Approximately 30% of hairs are in this stage at any one time so a course of treatments is required and you will see progressive results with each treatment. Choosing the correct settings for a client will also impact how effective the treatment is. SkinBase IPL will use the clients skin colour type, hair colour and hair type (thick or thin) to select the most appropriate settings required and these can also be fine tuned for subsequent treatments. Cients starting a course of treatment now will have completed their course by the summer time so for those planning a summer holiday now is the ideal time to start. Keep an eye out for our IPL marketing promotion for this coming soon.
