Love in the Air

Is Love in the Air at Your Salon This Valentine’s Day?

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, so now is the time to think about ways to market your business by offering specials and promotions for the most romantic day of the year.

A recent survey conducted by an online marketing research group revealed that a spa treatment was third on the list of the ideal Valentine’s gifts for women. Number one on the list was a car closely followed by a holiday at number two. So, seeing as it’s easier and more affordable to buy a spa or beauty treatment, it’s time to get your marketing hat on an appeal to the lovebirds out there.

Stay Ahead of the Competition

Marketing your beauty business for Valentine’s Day is vital in today’s current market. There are so many industry contenders in the field of beauty that you’ll need to wow clients in order to stand out from the crowd.

This romantic time of year is the perfect opportunity to engage with existing clients and entice new clients. Let’s look at how you can spread the love this February.

1.    Make your Window display WOW!

The window of your salon is the first thing many clients will see, and therefore, it should be a bright, visual and engaging display. Not only this, but your window is free advertising space for your salon, so use it to place posters, showcase your offers and create something visually enticing to new clients.

A well-presented window display can stop people in their tracks if done correctly so it can be very beneficial to go that extra mile.

2.    Send your client ‘love notes.’

A really cute and quirky thing to do is to send ‘love notes’ to your existing clients. If you hold contact details for prospective clients, you can also send notes to them as long as it’s in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

These ‘love notes’ can be sent via email, social media or even via a mail drop if you prefer traditional forms of marketing. These little notes could be in the form of a flyer and should include details of what promotions you have on offer in the run-up to Valentine’s Day.

3.    Take advantage of impulse buying

We’ve all been there – at the checkout and out of the corner of your eye, you spot something bright and colourful that you don’t entirely need but are sure you will use. Otherwise known as impulse buying.

Well, when it comes to Valentine’s Day, you can continue the passion theme with a basket of red and pink impulse buys at the till point or on your reception desk. Lipsticks, nail polish, and coloured hair accessories could increase sales at this romantic time of the year.

Make the Most of Cupid

Valentine’s Day will come and go in a flash. So, make sure you start marketing to your clients this month to make the most of Cupid. Happy Valentine’s Day!
