Our Favourite Reads for World Book Day

We love learning here at SkinBase and we read a lot of books. What better day to celebrate some essential reading for your business than on World Book Day?

Here are a few of our favourite easy reads. These books all offer some great tips and advice for your salon business.

Eat that Frog – Brian Tracy

This is a great little book that’s quick and easy to read. It can help you make some real improvements to your productivity. If you are a procrastinator then don’t hesitate to make a start on this book!

The key take-out from the book is to define your goals and write them down. Break those goals into bite-sized tasks. Prioritise and start your day with your most difficult but necessary task. Tracy calls it your ‘frog’.

“Eat that Frog!” means that starting your day with your biggest and most dreaded task every day will set you up to win!

The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing – Al Ries and Jack Trout

A lot of marketing is all about perception. This book helps you look at how brands are perceived and how it can drive their success. You will then be able to apply it to your own business and even your own life.

Salon Products, Sell or Die (Not) Trying – Carl Hinder

Carl is the creator of the very successful Salon Help pricing app and is a business coach.

His book ‘Salon Products, Sell or Die (Not) Trying’ talks about the connection between customer service and product selling.

Running a salon is hard work and we all need to feel supported. This book puts things into perspective. It will quickly help you realise the things you need to do to boost your business.

If you want to improve your profits it’s worth a look.

Retail sales are the quickest, easiest and least time-consuming way to improve your profits.

30 Days to Beauty Business Success – Liz McKeon

It’s no secret that we love Liz McKeon here at SkinBase. She talks so much sense.  An industry legend, she understands the problems a beauty business faces. She gives effective and instant solutions to the main challenges salon owners face.

These are covered in 5 key areas:

  • Customer Service
  • Money and Cashflow
  • Sales and Client Acquisition
  • Your Team
  • Your Work/Life Balance

A great read that covers all aspects of a beauty business.

So make the most of this World Book Day and give your salon the boost it needs.
