Salon Spotlight – Gorgeous! Hair and Beauty Salon

Here at SkinBase we work with lots of different types of business; Mobile Therapists, Spas, Chain salons, Home based salons, Barbers, Skin Clinics, Nurses, and Doctors and so we decided it was time to get to know a few of our clients and, of course, find out how they use our SkinBase systems.

The first salon spotlight to feature on our SkinBase professionals’ blog is Gorgeous! in Oswestry. Thank you to Maxine for taking the time out to answer our questions.

How long have you been offering SkinBase treatments in your business and what made you choose us?

I think 3 years, but maybe more. The PAYG offer attracted me, microdermabrasion was something I had been thinking about for a while, but I could not justify the outlay.

How popular is SkinBase with your clients?

Extremely, only had one client in all the years I have been doing them that wasn’t impressed. I have had some great results. Most of my clients are now on maintenance treatments, but we still get new clients all the time.

Which skin complaint do you treat most with your SkinBase machine?

General all over refresh, but we have treated one lady in particular with terrible deep scarring from acne, whose skin is now virtually smooth and she now feels confident to go without makeup.

Do you have any advice for someone thinking of taking on a SkinBase machine?

Go for it! Best decision I ever made, SkinBase are a great company to work with, the support is fantastic, marketing amazing. It is effortless, well worth the money and the intro trial was also a great incentive. I don’t think I have ever not done at least 1 a week, so it always pays for itself.

What makes you stand out from the crowd?

We always go that bit further, be it a brolly if it’s raining, to some lovely wrapped biscuits with your drink. We pride ourselves on our customer service and get great feedback about how friendly, relaxed, and professional we are. We allow plenty of time for our treatments so neither the customer or therapist feel rushed and have plenty of time to discuss any other treatments and products they may benefit from.

You are very active on Social Media. What’s your top tip for using it to promote your business?

Keep posting! Make it relevant and eye catching…short videos seem to work best for us, as do pictures of our work. Also sharing to local groups helps reach a wider audience.

You have been in business over 10 years, what keeps your customers coming back to you?

Take time to listen to your customer’s needs and offer solutions to help them achieve their goals. We are a one stop shop and cater for all their hair and beauty needs. All our staff have education in all areas (and experience of having treatments) so we can all talk with confidence about the services we offer and can recommend from personal experience what the treatments are like. It is important to have faith in what you offer.

If you could offer just one piece of skincare advice what would it be?

Moisturise twice a day and drink plenty of water daily (sorry I know that’s two, but both equally important in my eyes).

Thanks, Maxine. A few great tips in there to take away too.

Keep your eyes peeled for our next Salon Spotlight and if you are in the Oswestry area may we suggest you head down to Gorgeous.
